Samurai Farai BTS.

Farai Engelbrecht (Samurai Farai) is a South African visual artist, curator, and cultural entrepreneur based in Johannesburg.

Moulded by the cultural dynamics of Southern Africa and informed by his dual Zimbabwean and Afrikaans heritage, his practice offers a distinct Afrocentric perspective rooted in lived experience. Working across fine art, objects, and wearable forms, Engelbrecht’s work explores identity, memory, and the psychological and spiritual dimensions that exist beneath the surface of everyday life.

I had the unique experience of getting to connect with Farai, and document the beind the scenes of his creative process whilst finalising a mural at Salomon's Sportstyle Launch Event in Bree Street, Cape Town.
